Sudan’s Omar Bashir
Exchanging Devils
By Hameed Abdul Karim
‘La Idris – Na’am Iblis’ was the cry that precipitated King Idris’ overthrow from the throne of Libya. What the slogan meant was ‘no to Idris – yes to the devil’. It was a catchy slogan as slogans go, like Indira Gandhi’s clarion call ‘Garibi Hatao’ (eliminate poverty). But as Sheikh Hamza Hanson pointed out, you got to be careful of what you ask. See what the Libyans got in Colonel Gaddafi. It looks like as if their prayers had been answered.

Europe is literally the creation of the Third World’ Frantz Fanon - Wretched of the Earth
Your decision to explore Islam and Muslims’ contribution to France is, for once, the right decision you have made though your motive, in your xenophobic madness is to denigrate Islam and demonise Muslims.
But after the announcement you seem to have become a tad too quiet on the subject. Probably some guy would have whispered in your ear that the whole thing can boomerang on you.

CRUNCH TIME FOR EGYPT
Crunch time for Egypt

'We do not govern Egypt, we only govern the governors of Egypt' - Lord Cromer
As Egyptians from all walks of life ponder their prospects for a future free from tyranny, they certainly must be concerned of a possible hijacking of their revolution or a co-opting into the murky world of the world's ruling elite.
Egyptians were never independent in the true sense of the word since they gained ‘independence’ from Britain. Egypt’s slave role continued with those insufferable tyrants who sold their people’s sovereignty and integrity to the West for the moolah that came their way. The ‘servant governors’ were only too happy to be governed by the West as long as they could project themselves as ‘leaders’ to the outside world. They didn’t care a tuppence for the contempt their own people had for them.

ISLAMOPHOBIA - IS THERE A SINISTER MOTIVE?
Islamophobia: Is There a Sinister Motive? Hameed Abdul Karim‘85% of American Muslim community leaders are an enemy living amongst us’ U.S Representative Peter King (R-NY) A video doing the rounds on the internet claims that Muslims and Islam will take over Europe in the near future. Muslims, it said, would outnumber the non-Muslims and Sharia will replace the liberal values. The narrator, in a sepulchral voice, announced that it was too late for Europeans to turn the clock back because the birth rates of Muslims far exceeded that of the natives. Muslims went ecstatic on hearing the ‘news’ and in their triumphalism did not bother to check the ‘facts’ mentioned in the documentary or the sources. In the process, they missed the real motive behind the documentary which was to generate fear and hate among Westerners for Islam and the Muslims. |

IS THE 'FUTURE' COMING TO EGYPT
Is the 'future' coming to Egypt? Sunday March 13, 2011 |
| By Hameed Abdul Karim |
| Virtually the whole world stood up and applauded the Egyptian youth on their successful campaign to rid themselves of their tyrant president Hosni Mubarak except for the Christian Right in the U.S. and Fox News. But their rejection should give the Egyptians all the more reason to be more cautious especially when euphoria comes to an end and when they begin to tackle the diverse issues that confront them. |
