The Sunday Observer, a government owned paper, published an article painting Israel's first Prime Minister David Ben Gurion as a great humanist on 13 February 2011. Ben Gurion's crimes against the Palestinian people, especially the ethnic cleansing of Palestine, are well known. We wrote a rejoinder, but the paper did not publish our response. The author, Uditha Kumarasinghe, unabashedly profess he was on a tour of Israel suggesting his trip was paid for by the 'Jewish' state. The True Picture of David Ben Gurion
Hameed Abdul Karim
I was horrified when I read Uditha Kumarasinghe’s article praising David Ben Gurion in an attempt to revise history in the Sunday Observer of 13 February 2011. Ben Gurion was no saint as Mr. Kumarasinghe would have us believe. It is well know that it was Ben Gurion who masterminded the expulsion of 750,000 Palestinians from their homes and farmlands when the Zionists and the Western world joined hands to wipe Palestine off the map of the world.
